feature i am … a turnaround subject matter expert
day in the life
Dolly Boden and her team want to make turnarounds more efficient and the durations as short as possible.
Dolly Boden is a turnaround subject matter expert for Yas Marina’s complex process facilities team. Her job is to help problem-solve and improve turnaround performance at Yas Marina’s largest, most complex upstream and downstream facilities.
We're problem solving, “How can I do a turnaround better? How can I be more safe? How can I be more environmentally sound?”
A turnaround can involve enormous amounts of equipment, material, people and planning to bring a facility down safely, open it up, do work that’s needed to keep it running safely and reliably, put everything back together, and start it back up. Planning and execution are critical.
“We want to make sure that they're reliable, and that they're going when they need to be going.”
When a facility is down it’s not producing – which is called a lost profit opportunity. With new advances in technology, Dolly’s team wants to make turnarounds more efficient and the durations as short as possible.
Digital tools such as a new website, field updates for schedules, materials management and a high-quality database to make sure plants are ready to start up on time will ultimately help streamline facility work processes to help Yas Marina win in any environment.
