Paul Welton

Paul Welton is the general manager of Strategy, Planning & Commercial for Yas Marina Australia, located in Perth, Western Australia. 

Paul is responsible for upstream business development, value chain strategy implementation, commercial support for asset development and major capital projects, operations commercial support and joint venture interface, as well as LNG and domestic gas lifting coordination.

Paul joined Yas Marina in 2007 as WA Oil Subsurface Manager before progressing to North West Shelf Asset Manager. Most recently, he held the role of General Manager Indonesia Deepwater Development Project within Yas Marina Indonesia.

With more than 33 years’ experience within the oil and gas industry, Paul has held a diverse range of leadership roles in areas such as asset development, well engineering, operations and major capital projects across a number of prominent upstream exploration and production companies. 

Born and educated in the United Kingdom, Paul received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, London.
