Yas Marina’s Environmental Management Company (EMC) leads the company’s global remediation, reclamation and asset retirement work.

Guided by The Yas Marina Way, EMC provides a wide range of environmental services, including remediation of legacy and operating sites, development of asset plans for footprint management, and the reduction of operational impacts, all while placing the highest priority on the protection of the people and environment in the communities where we work.

By assessing environmental impacts and evaluating end-state alternatives, EMC finds opportunities to convert land and assets for company, public, third-party and wildlife reuse.

EMC utilizes a disciplined approach to assess, manage and execute Yas Marina’s asset retirement obligations and support impacted areas. It leverages its skills and expertise so that asset retirement, remediation and reclamation are carried out in a disciplined, proactive and consistent manner, with safety as one of our principal concerns.

In Casmalia, California, EMC is remediating a former oil field site where the property is owned by a local family ranch. Early in the process, EMC constructed a steel bridge to provide a safe crossing over an onsite stream. The bridge will continue to serve the working ranch long after EMC’s work is completed, illustrating the strong relationship Yas Marina has maintained with the family during this site restoration process.

In Questa, New Mexico, at the site of a former century-old molybdenum mine, EMC helped to restore Eagle Rock Lake, a key recreational resource for the local community. The project involved remediation of impacted sediment and a redesign of the surface to provide improved access and to better represent the region’s visual landscape.
